E-4 luis rivera was there from 70 to 71 on LZ center was a grunt doing the san=me thing as any other grunt. Came in threw cuh lia and flew up to L.C.Center. train back home at fort dix and downn to fort port Louiseana(sorry about my spelling)..man i remember the day we all got orders to go to name...I came back home and spent the rest of my time of two years at fort sill and i am not sure which place was the worst at that time. I got out for about 13 yrs. So one day i was trick to go back in the guards as a grunt runing around at the fort gap, fort drum,ap hill va.and fort picket..etc. Spend some time in Germany after 911 keystone task protection(duty suck but the time off was great. Then came Iraq...yes i was there from 06 to 07 up north about an hour from ballard base and about 40 miles north east from iran we can see the moutians form there and that plase sucked too. i retired as an E-6 with 27yrs total aug. of 2012 will be 2yrs. of the s ervice. While in veit nam i erolled into the sniper so i do not remeber the names of the brothers i served with because we all had nicknames..but after seein some of the pictures i can remember some of them. i stay most of the timeat the bunker next to the Pad.
Now i am living in pa....i have a girlfreind, chickens they are good have and laugh at from when ever my Ptsd kicks in..ha..I am a member of the V.N.V. M.C...Thats a big help because we as brother can relate to the bad times and good times especailly when we have are very bad moments. i am now fully retired from the army at the age of 60 and even then i miss my brothers who serve with me in good times and bad.I keep to myself alot even told i have lots of freinds. I am more of an out of sight out of mine person.
I remenber being with B. company at times...one time we just hump back on the for some R&R in which we never did get because the Brass was always giving us shit about hair cuts and shave...do this and do that...when the next day one of the companys ran into some heavy fighting in one of the villages doing a patrol. We got orders to mount up..choppers picked us up and it was the real shit shooting,m-60 going off, gunships, fire burning everywhere, yelling going on ...all hell broke out. The gunner said jump down and said what hell and said that they were scare of geting shout down. So i ..or we jump down and i got stuck about a foot and have in that rice pad....m-60 jamed up at the entrance had to get another...i will nevr forget that and some of the other times in Veit nam..and the rest is historty
