Joe Middendorf was one of the best soldiers I met during my tour in Nam.
He was a great M60 machine gunner, and saved my life a few times, especially in Tam Ky May 13-15 1969. If it were not for him and Doug Hatten I would not be writing this letter and I would have never had a chance to teach and coach for 38 wonderful years in the World. Thanks Joe for covering my butt while I retreaved the wounded or performed medical aid in the open like a sitting duck. You are The Man!!!! "Doc"
